Windows 7 Tips

Tip 1: Display Projection
With Microsoft's Windows 7 this has been made simpler by just pressing Windows7_Button + P on any notebook or desktop connected to a projector.

Tip 2: Search
By clicking on the Windows button Windows7_Button Windows 7 has made searching and finding specific files, folders and applications extremely easy. By entering a name or partial name which resembles what you are looking for, you will be returned a list of matching items.

Tip 3: Jumplist
This gives the user the ability to view recently accessed files through a specific application such as Word and Excel by right clicking on the application icon on the taskbar.

Tip 4: Taskbar Peak Preview
This gives you the ability to preview any open windows in an application and also the option to see a "full size" peak of that window by moving your mouse over the taskbar icon.

Tip 5: Calculator
The traditional calculator is even better. There are extra functionalities that have been added. To access all the different views click on 'View' and choose the most appropriate view for you. There are also other functions such as Unit and Date Conversion.

Tip 6: Task Bar and System Tray Customization
With the new Windows 7 you have the ability to pin/change your taskbar as well as your system tray. This basically gives the users the ability to customise and optimise their desktop layout.

Tip 7: Shortcuts
Here are some shortcuts using the windows button on your keyboard that are quit useful in day-to-day use.
Windows7_Button + P = Presentation Window - allowing users to modify display i.e. projector/notebook display
Windows7_Button + Space = Allows users to see through to the desktop. Very useful when downloading and copying to the desktop to see if the data has been copied/moved across
